Security of your data

The body responsible in the sense of the Federal German Data Protection Law is the firm NEWBOOKS Services, Elke Röhle & Moritz Hodde GbR, Am Malzbuechel 6-8, 50667 Cologne, Germany, hereinafter designated as NEWBOOKS Services .

NEWBOOKS Services undertake to use and electronically store the data of their customers (name, address, payment method) exclusively for the purpose of information on subject area and to process the purchase contracts received. You will receive information concerning subject area only after your express consent.

Important personal data such as registration information and login data will be transmitted by secure means within the internet.  Your data will only be stored on our servers in a secure computer centre in order to exclude any possible misuse by outside parties.

The use of your data

We need your basic data for your personal newsletter in order to be able to supply you with relevant information on the new publications and new editions in line with your selection of subject area.  We also need your personal data for the address, delivery and method of payment in order to facilitate your order from the bookshop of your choice.  We also store your personal data so that you do not have to enter this again and again with every new order.

In particular, clients' data will be only be passed on to third parties (eg. courier services or credit institutes) for the purpose of the execution of the contract on the part of NEWBOOKS Services. As soon as the abovementioned purpose for storing data no longer pertains then you have the right to access the data stored on you and have it amended or deleted.  After the contract has been carried out, the client's data is blocked from any processing and archived for tax reasons.

The storing of the data is also necessary so that you have an exclusive personal access to your individual user setting.  Your access data are your personal user name and your password.  We send out newsletters exclusively on the subjects chosen by you.

Keeping your data

Your personal data will be kept in a secure data base to which only NEWBOOKS Services and customer account managers of the respective participating bookshop receive access.

We store only those personal data that you enter upon registration and which you can check at any time.  Not only the original selection of subjects but also the data on your profile can be amended at any time.  Furthermore, we can assure you: there are no links with the data sources of third parties in order to run comparisons with other address data banks.
